Need To Repipe Your Home? We’re Repipe Specialists

Repiping your home can seem like a huge job, which is why you need the repiping specialists from the BC Team on your side.

How do you know if you need to repipe? Chances are, if it’s just a leak, all you need is a simple repair. But more serious problems could require a complete redo of your home’s plumbing.

Signs your Home Might Need Repiping

Some of the most common indications that you may need repiping specialists to repipe your home are its age, water pressure, water color, and if you’ve had multiple leaks.

Age

If your home is older than 50 years and it’s never had its pipes replaced, you may want to call in for an inspection. Most piping material lasts between 50-80 years, so there is a good chance your pipes are getting old. The plumber will look for corrosion, rust, leaks, cracks, and any other indication that your pipes are nearing their end of life.

Low Water Pressure

If your home has low water pressure, something is probably wrong with the plumbing. It could be caused by mineral buildup or rust, both of which block the pipe and don’t allow enough water through. These can’t be repaired by a drain snake, unfortunately, and most cases will require replacement. If the issue isn’t serious, plumbers should be able to remove the clogged pipe and replace that section easily.

Discolored Water

Discolored water is a huge sign that something is wrong with your pipes. Reddish or brown water usually means you have a lot of rust that’s getting into your water. In this case, repiping your house is necessary because not only are your pipes old, but your water quality is affected as well. Like with low water pressure, a plumber or a repipe specialist will be able to determine the extent of the damage and can apply the right type of fix.

Multiple Pipe Leaks

The biggest indicator you’ll need to repipe your home is if you’ve had multiple pipe leaks in a short period of time. If leaks are common, then your pipes are failing. To avoid damaging your home, you’ll want to get a repipe specialist in there right away.

The investment you make in repiping your house will pay off in the future because you’ll avoid the costs of frequent plumbing repairs and you’ll also save water.

What Does Repiping a Home Entail?

Repiping a home is a big job, but specialists are ready for it. It involves giving your home an entirely new plumbing system. It should be a once-in-a-lifetime type job too, since most piping materials have long lifespans.

You may think completely redoing your home’s piping will involve weeks of taking out walls and digging trenches, but that’s not the case.

The actual installation usually takes between 3 to 5 days, depending on home size and repiping company, and water service interruption will only occur for a few hours each day. We’ll protect your home while doing this too — everything will be covered by plastic sheets to prevent damage and debris.

The process begins by cutting into your drywall and ceiling to access the older pipes. Once the pipes are removed and replaced, we’ll patch your walls back up. You won’t even know we were there.

Some pipes need more extensive excavation to access them, and this may involve moving major fixtures. However, we make every effort to restore your house to its previous condition once we’re done.

Do You Have To Live Elsewhere During Repiping?

Nope! Repiping jobs are done in sections to ensure your home is livable during the process. Water will only be shut off during select hours of the day too, so you won’t be without.

You won’t have to worry about construction starting right away either. Plumbers will need the proper permits to do it, so it typically can’t be done right when you call them.

Does It Include All The Drain Pipes, Like From Toilets And Showers?

Not necessarily. It depends on what system needs to be repiped. Your toilets and shower drain pipes run on another system. Let’s explain: a typical home has two water systems: a draining system, and one that supplies the water.

When Will I See A Difference?

When you call the BC Team, you’ll see a difference right away. Your water pressure will improve, there won’t be any more leaks, your monthly water bills should improve, and you can expect fewer clogs during the next few years.

So give us a call and see what the BC Team can do for you!
